Dear JCDP Precinct Chairs, JC Elected Officials, and JC Democrats,

I am writing to you today under difficult circumstances due to our County Chair's resignation yesterday as well as deeply respecting he and his family's privacy. And I want to assure you during this interim time, I will do everything possible along with the assistance of the Texas Democratic Party to get through this transition in a timely and professional manner. To ensure a seamless transition, we will follow our established JCDP Bylaws along with our TDP Rules that states, “the County Executive Committee Precinct Chairs are required by law to elect a new County Chair.”

1. 1. Application for County Chair

   We encourage everyone to please help distribute to all eligible Jefferson County Democrats who wish to become the JCDP Chair the Application for County Chair (opens in new tab). All information is required on the application, and it must be emailed to [email protected] no later than 4 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026.

2. 2. Meeting to elect the new County Chair

   I call for the meeting to elect the new County Chair which shall meet all statutory requirements to be Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., at the JCDP Headquarters, 2211 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, Texas 77701 (opens in new tab), with the meeting agenda as follows:

   • Call the Meeting to Order
   • Pledge of Allegiance
   • Prayer
   • JCDP Chair Candidates Presentation (3-minutes per candidate)
   • Election of New JCDP Chair (Per JCDP Bylaws & TDP Rules voting is restricted to Precinct Chairs only)
   • Congratulations — New Chair Presented
   • Adjournment

I know there is much more to discuss, but this is our starting point. And we understand you may have questions during this interim time, and I will make myself available to speak with you face-to-face at the JCDP Headquarters.
